(C) Carbohydrate assimilation and PHB production in batch culture using 1.5% (w/v) sucrose and 1% (w/v) glucose. All experiments were performed in shake flasks at 35°C and 220 rpm of agitation. The abbreviations RCM and MSG in the figure refer to residual cell mass and mono sodium glutamate, respectively. All experiments were performed in triplicate. The error bars refer to the SD of the average values.
