The conserved catalytic triad residues are indicated with asterisks. The position indicated with an arrow represents the C terminus sequence missing in PhaC2. Amino acids are given in standard one-letter abbreviations and the numbers indicate the positions of the amino acids within the respective proteins. Shaded amino acids residues indicate identical and conserved residues in the sequences of the four PhaCs.
