  1. Growth in liquid Medium of E. coli strains KNabc pUC18 (control) and KNabc pUCHelNhaD (NhaD) at 0%1) and 3% (500 mM) salinity (w/v) in MM63 minimal medium. Growth rates, duration of lag phase and maximum OD(600 nm) depending on culture and strain are summarized. Relative growth rate is given for complemented strain compared to the control at same salinity. It can not be calculated for 3% (500 mM).
